low-field NMR
Why low-field NMR?
Conventional pH probes infer pH from an electrochemical response at the probe surface. In biologics process streams, that surface can be affected by fouling, protein adhesion, drift, calibration history and harsh pH exposure.
ChromWatch uses low-field NMR to measure the sample without physical probe contact, enabling pH and concentration determination without the same surface-dependent failure modes.

What this means operationally?
-
no glass electrode in contact with the sample
-
no protein adhesion on the sensor surface
-
no probe drift from process exposure
-
reduced calibration burden
-
standardised operator workflow
-
direct numerical output from measured spectra

OUR Use-case
Buffer Management, inline conditioning systems, plug-and-play functionality and output data
Heading 4
Viral inactivation pH adjustment
Rapid, trusted pH and concentration confirmation during low-pH viral inactivation workflows. ChromWatch helps reduce repeated checks, operator-dependent additions and unnecessary hold-time extension.
Chromatography buffer and equilibration checks
Confirm buffer condition and process readiness before critical chromatography steps, reducing uncertainty at handoff points where incorrect pH or concentration can create downstream risk.
TFF and skid verification points
Provide independent, contactless confirmation where complex skid history, probe storage, cleaning, or process changeovers reduce confidence in conventional readings
Harsh pH swing environments
Support high-confidence measurement after aggressive pH transitions, where conventional probes may be slow to stabilise or difficult to trust.
Buffer characterisation and process development
Generate rapid pH and concentration data to support buffer development, method transfer, process understanding and right-first-time adjustment workflows.
Who it is for
